Clinical Trial Registration In India : Clinical Trials Registry- India (CTRI)

Do all the Clinical Trials which are conducted in India are registered through Clinical Trials Registry- India (CTRI) ??

In India, we have Clinical Trials Registry- India (CTRI) which has been by the ICMR's National Institute of Medical Statistics (NIMS) through the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).

The CTRI is an online register of clinical trials being conducted in India. Any researcher who plans to conduct a trial involving human participants, are expected to register the trial in CTRI before enrollment of the first participant.

Current registration is purely voluntary. So I am not sure how many Companies or Researchers are doing this. I will find out more about this.

But for there some very good advantages of registering Clinical Trials.

- By doing so the information is freely available online to all. This can very useful for further research and studies.

- Also it shows transparency of the work done by the Clinical Trial Team and hence builds confidence among common people who participates in Clinical Trials.
